Del Dotto: David Del Dotto was a well-known infomercial
genius who claimed to be a real estate
investing guru. His tapes and books promised
to help people learn how to get rich
investing in real estate with little or no
money down and with poor credit.
The package sold for $299 and sold thousands
of copies all over the United States until
his infomercials were stopped by the FTC.
In 1996 Del Dotto Enterprises, Inc. and
David Del Dotto was sued by the Federal
Trade Commission on charges that he made
deceptive claims regarding his this set of
books and audiotapes which claimed to offer
cash flows that some secrets about
purchasing real estate and getting credit to
buy homes.
The FTC's major complaint was that Del Dotto
claimed to have a money-back guarantee for
anyone who purchased the program, however,
he never disclosed that there were
conditions for the refund. The FTC also said
that Del Dotto made false claims regarding
the amount of money that could be made with
the program.

In 1998 Del Dotto was once again sued by the
Wisconsin State Bureau of Consumer
Protection when he reappeared on
infomercials selling a real estate course.
When he was forced to halt the infomercials
he reappeared selling products that weren't
associated with real estate.
After Del Dotto was sued multiple times by
various government and state agencies for
repeated offenses and going against the 1996
FTC ruling that forbid he sell his real
estate program, Del Dotto filed for personal
bankruptcy and also filed bankruptcy on all
of his businesses. Since then Del Dotto has
been operating a lavish winery in
California'a Napa Valley.
His real estate investing information is now
considered to be outdated and many have
claimed that some of the information
provided in his cassettes and books are now
illegal in real estate investing in many
states.
Dave Del Dotto abandoned his real estate
career and started his own wine making
company somewhere in California.
