Don Lapre (the rip off):
Don Lapre appeared on infomercials in 1990
with a credit repair program, a loan program
and a 900 number program. In 1992 he began
promoting a money making system which sold a
package of booklets, tapes and other
materials which claimed to help individuals
make millions. The IRS challenged Lapre in
1995 for failing to pay taxes. In 1997 Lapre
sold one of his most popular programs and
filed for bankruptcy.
Then, in 1997 Lapre then began selling a
vitamin formula which he claimed was the
Greatest Vitamin in the World and even named
the product as such. In 2005 the FDA applied
pressure to Don Lapre stating that his
claims that the Greatest Vitamin in the
World healed or even cured certain ailments
was false advertising and not proven by the
FDA.

Before The Greatest Vitamin in the World was
pulled off the shelf and the parent
companies behind the product seemingly
closed down their websites without warning,
the product had already build a large base
of resellers, most of which claim they were
owed commissions for selling the product. In
researching this product you will also find
that there are many who are still looking to
purchase The Greatest Vitamin in the World
by Don Lapre.
It is rumored that Don Lapre is working on
another project that will bring him back to
television, but no one knows if he will go
live on the internet or attempt another
infomercial success. With all of the
negative reviews about his various programs,
we may never see Lapre attempt to sell any
more of his products, ideas or services.
Only time will tell.
